Online Casino Survey Forecasts UIGEA Repeal in 2007
Apr 15, 2007A poll conducted by online gambling information site 777.com, has revealed that 75 percent of gamblers are confident that online gambling will once again be legal the US within the next three years.
Online gamblers were asked to voice their opinion on when they believe the US legislature will reverse its decision to effectively ban online gambling in 2006’s Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), which prohibits American financial institutions from processing transactions for Internet gambling companies.
The poll (http://www.777.com/poll/when-will-the-u-s-allow-online-gambling-again) results showed that 42 percent of participants are confident that by the end of 2007, online gambling will be reinstated in the US that the UIGEA law will be void.
A smaller section of voters, 25 percent, where adamant that the online gambling ban will never be amended while 13 percent say the ban will end in 2008, 9 percent voted with an end in 2009 and 11 percent see 2010 as d-day for the UIGEA.
